About Me
I am passionate about planning! Every goal, whether big or small, starts with a plan. I enjoy helping my clients transition through the stages of life. From young adults starting their families and careers to end of life planning, then helping their loved ones after they pass. No matter where you are on your great journey through life, I am here to help!

My love of processes and numbers took hold as a high school senior who discovered an affinity for tax and accounting. However, the Lord lead me to serve in law enforcement and the military. After nearly ten years of law enforcement and military service, I followed a professional dream of becoming an attorney.

I was blessed to be able to marry my best friend, Beverly, and have two beautiful girls, Kate and Lily. We live in the Porter’s Neck Community of Wilmington, NC. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, woodworking, target shooting and watching comedy and action movies. Our family attends Renovation Church in Hampstead.

Estate Planning Process
Initial Consultation- The initial consultation is an opportunity to establish the relationship with the client to determine a starting point for the planning process. Education is provided to the client as to different planning options that may be beneficial to the client based upon the intake questionnaire.

Design Meeting- The design meeting is the strategy session where goals and objectives of the customized estate plan occur.

Signing Meeting- The estate planning documents are reviewed and executed.

Funding- The funding process is the critical component of a trust plan. It is far too common to review trust plans that have not been funded. As a matter of practice, I generally include the initial funding in the estate planning fees.

Professional Collaboration- We work closely with you other professionals, including financial planners, insurance experts, accountants, realtors, bankers and advisors to make sure that your estate plan is robust and comprehensive.

Jeanie Futrell CPA

About Me
I am a Pender County native, UNCW alumna, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and NC Certified Paralegal. I enjoy working with people and handling estate administration matters. Estate administration can be daunting and overwhelming for clients. Estate administration is comprised of legal and administrative processes. Accounting is an integral part of estate administration, is a natural fit for me professionally. My goal and hope is to make this process as smooth as possible.

As a paralegal, I have been dedicated to the service of clients in the planning and estate administration for over 25 years! I had the privilege of being employed and mentored by an exceptional estate planning attorney in Wilmington from 1991 until his untimely death in 2017 at the young age of 55. I am truly grateful and blessed to have the opportunity with David to continue that same level of service, dedication and loyalty to clients!

My husband, Norwood, has served the State of NC in public safety for 28 years. We have two children, Addison, a graduate of UNCW, and Harley, a student at Topsail High School. We enjoy boating and cookouts with family and friends. We love traveling anywhere warm, especially the Florida Keys!
